Welcome, I am a Charlotte-based sexologist and couples therapist with a strong psychology background and over 26 years of experience helping individuals and couples restore intimacy, rebuild desire, and strengthen connection. I specialize in intimacy concerns, infidelity recovery, desire and arousal difficulties, erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, anorgasmia, sexual anxiety, trauma, pornography addiction, and self-esteem issues. I offer in-person and online sessions in English and Spanish, providing confidential, evidence-based care to support more connected, passionate, and fulfilling relationships.
I hold a PhD in Human Sexuality and, since 1998, have dedicated my life to helping individuals and couples rediscover connection, passion, and desire. I am one of the few specialists who has intentionally integrated the fields of sex counseling and couples counseling, allowing for a deeper understanding of the complexity of intimacy and the dynamic interplay between love and desire in long-term relationships. For more than two decades, I have guided people toward healthier, more fulfilling relationships—where emotional safety and erotic curiosity can coexist in balance.
Born on the Fourth of July and raised in vibrant Rio de Janeiro. I’m a blend of German and Hispanic heritage, Brazilian heart, and a global perspective. My multicultural roots shape how I understand human connection: through empathy, rhythm, and diversity. My academic path began in the United States, where I earned a BS in Family Science and Psychology from Brigham Young University, a PhD in Human Sexuality in San Francisco, CA, and a Master’s in Sexology and Relationships.
I hold a lifetime board certification as a Clinical Sexologist from the American College of Sexologists International and am AASECT-certified. I am also certified by the National Association of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapists (NACBT), and member of the World Association for Sexual Health (WAS), with additional training and certifications in neuropsychotherapy, hypnotherapy, NLP, erotology, infidelity and affair recovery, sexual trauma, and pornography addiction. My work integrates science and soul—a reflection of my belief that desire is not lost, only waiting to be understood.
In addition, I have studied at the Jungian Institute of Analytical Psychology and received advanced training in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT). I have served as a Master Sex Coach Trainer for Sex Coach U, USA, where I trained other professionals in sex coaching. With over two decades of experience in couples counseling and sex counseling, I have integrated these disciplines to help many individuals and couples revitalize their relationships.

I have written for publications such as Eligible Magazine and appeared on radio and television programs in the U.S. and Latin America — including co-hosting the TV show The Specialist in Charlotte, NC.
Over the years, I’ve presented at international conferences across Brazil, the United States, Puerto Rico, Mexico, South Africa, Australia, and Europe — sharing research on desire, erotic communication, consent, and sexual satisfaction. My recent presentations include:

- “The Impact of a Healthy Relationship on Sexual Satisfaction,” presented at the World Association for Sexual Health Conference in Porto Alegre, Brazil (2013).
- “The In-Factor Model: How the Internet Leads to Infidelity,” presented at the AASECT Annual Conference in Miami, USA (2013), and in San Juan, Puerto Rico (2016).

My books — Make Love 365 Times a Year, The In-Factor Model, and The 7 Erotic Languages, English version — extend this mission beyond the therapy room. Through them, I share my lifelong exploration of how love evolves, how desire transforms, and how intimacy can be consciously sustained over time. My latest work, Los 7 Lenguajes del Erotismo: El Eslabón Perdido en la Relación de Pareja, celebrates the sensual languages through which we express and experience desire, a cornerstone of my Beyond Love philosophy.
My private practice, established in Charlotte, North Carolina, since 2011, offers bilingual (English and Spanish) counseling for individuals and couples worldwide. My areas of expertise include infidelity, low desire, sexual anxiety, performance issues, trauma recovery, pornography addiction, communication barriers, and intimacy renewal. Infidelidad, terapia de pareja, terapia individual. I work inclusively with all relationship structures — from newlyweds to long-term couples, multicultural partners, and mature relationships seeking renewal.
At the heart of my approach lies a simple belief:
Passion and desire are not things we lose — they are energies we can learn to access again.
Through evidence-based methods, emotional insight, and cultural sensitivity, I help my clients restore confidence, trust, and erotic vitality. Together, we navigate not only the science of sexuality, but also the poetry of connection — where love meets desire and becomes infinite.
Love sustains us. Desire keeps us alive. 🌹
